M/s	Master/slave relationship.
Macho Sub	A submissive with a reluctance to show distress, use a safe word, or who feels a need to stoically endure what is not pleasurable. The macho sub may be motivated by a desire to prove her mettle, show devotion, or reflect her internal fantasy. The macho sub must make sure the Dom is aware of her inclinations during negotiation. The Dom of a macho submissive should rely more on a checking-in technique and less on spontaneous feedback. The macho sub’s saving grace is a strong desire to obey. Ordering her to communicate clearly about stress, as it occurs can override some of her reluctance to “be a wimp.”
Maid Training	May be part of sissy training where a male is dressed in a feminine domestic service uniform and trained to serve as a maid would.
Maintenance / Maintenance Spanking	A spanking used to keep the tih/sub/slave in the right frame of mind so that stresses aren't building up. Many couple choose a regular routine, like once a month or once every week at the same time.

Manacles	Metal rings joined by a chain to restrain wrists or ankles.

Martinet	A type of whip consisting of a short, rigid handle with many short leather lashes, each of which is square in cross-section.
Masochist, pain slut	One who receives excitement, arousal, and satisfaction from erotic pain. Algophilia and Algolagnia
Master	Male owner of a slave. Also used by a submissive as an honorific for the Dominant in a relationship. Form of address used for all Free Men in Gor. An expert in a specific art or subject. A teacher.
Mastigothyma	Sexual arousal from being flogged.
Masturbatrix	A dominatrix who specializes in manually stimulating men, either to orgasm or as a form of teasing and orgasm denial.
Medical Gag	A device used in medical professions used to provide unlimited access to the mouth. They stop coherent speech, but do little to silence a person.
Medical Scene	BDSM scene where the Top plays a doctor or nurse and the bottom is the patient. Involves an examination and possible a "procedure" using medical equipment. Edge play.
Medical Scenes	Often desired to be done in a room equipped and fitted as a physicians or surgeons office. This is a form of role play, where cavity exams, piercing, the use of needles, scalpels, equipment sounds are generally found. Not for the novice. Some forms of this play are illegal, and can be dangerous.
Medium	A person who identifies with or exhibits a younger mindset and/or behaviors, but feels more like a teen or pre-teen than a little.
Medium Protocol	A code of behavior used in most BDSM scene environments.
Menophilist	One who is aroused by menstruating women.
Menthol Play	form of erotic play in which menthol products are used on sensitive areas of the body to produce intense stimulation. Often too strong to be tolerated on the sensitive internal mucous membrane of the anus or vagina. This kind of play needs to be treated with care because it can also cause intense discomfort.
Mentor	One that teaches or guides another through the lifestyle or certain aspects of it.
Merinthophilia	Sexual arousal from being tied up.
Messalina Syndrome/Melassina Complex	A seldom-used synonym for nymphomania. Etymology: Derives from the alleged promiscuous sexual appetite of Valeria Messalina, the wife of the Roman Emperor Claudius.
Meta Consent	mutual agreement to be able to act as if consent has been waived within agreed upon protocols or limits.
Metafetishist	1. A person who is aroused by introducing a partner to new sexual activities. 2. A person with a wide range of different sexual turn-ons or tastes. 3. A person who enjoys learning or exploring new sexual activities.
Military Play	A form of role play which involves military-style settings, uniforms, hierarchy, or protocol.
Milking	female milking induces lactation, with a pump manually, or orally. Male milking is the massage of the prostate gland which usually results in ejaculation without contact with the penis. Often used in male chastity bottoms.
Milking Stick	A device specifically intended for milking, usually consisting of a teardrop-shaped object about the size of a thumb on the end of a rigid rod, which is inserted into the anus and pressed against the prostate.
Milking Table	A piece of furniture consisting of an elevated horizontal table with a hole in it, and often equipped with straps or tie-down points. A man may be placed on or bound to the table face down so that his penis extends through the hole, and people underneath the table can stimulate him to ejaculation.
Mind-fuck	1. The result of BDSM which is almost entirely based on the imagination. 2. A scene in which most of the action takes place in the mind of the Bottom. 3. Messing with a bottom while playing, teasing that something will be worse than it actually is.
Mistress	Female owner of a slave. Also used by a submissive as an honorific for the Dominant in a relationship. Form of address used for all Free Women in Gor. An expert in a specific art or subject. A teacher
Mommy Domme/Little Boy / MDLB	the female led version of DDLG, a subset of Dominance and submission. While this lifestyle may or may not involve age play, the name refers to the nurturing relationship of parent/child or teacher/student.
Mousetrap	A specific type of cage used for very close confinement, consisting of rigid bars bent so as to conform very closely to the shape of a person's body and restrain that person in a specific position, often kneeling or on all fours.
Mousetraps	Used as a BDSM device for nipple torture. A severe and pain cheap nipple clamp.
Mouthguard Gag	This gag has two mouthguards, similar to those worn by sports players. The mouthguards are attached to a front faceplate, like most plug gags, and straps from the front to the back.
Mummification/Encasement	Bondage where the bottom is encased completely in tight and constricting kind of bondage in restrictive material such as bandages, cling-film, rubber or a special bag designed for this purpose.
Munch	A discreet social gathering of BDSM people, usually in a restaurant or pub, with the people dressed in "regular clothing" in order to chat socially. People usually exchange tricks and beliefs about the BDSM lifestyle, in a non-threatening situation. A great way to meet others in the BDSM lifestyle safely.
Must Limit	an activity that must happen in the scene for one partner to receive pleasure
Muzzle Gag	an over-the-mouth gag, only that they are usually made of leather, are fastened around the head with buckles and straps, and cover the lower part of the face. It is so called because it resembles a muzzle used on animals, with a flexible pad which straps over the mouth, and sometimes also around the cheeks and chin.
Nailing	The practice of using nails driven through parts of the body such as the labia, scrotum, or other part of the body as a form of bondage.
Needle Play / Piercings	Inserting a needle through skin and tissue. May be needle only or used to create a piercing with rings added. Either temporary for a scene anywhere on the body or permanent.
Negotiation	The art and science of reaching a clear, consensual agreement with your partner about the type of relationship you will have and the kinds of kinky things you will do together.
New Leather	Anything of or related to a specific part of the BDSM community which began taking the place of the old leather community in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The new leather community abandoned many of the rigid hierarchies and strict protocols of the old leather community, and welcomed lesbians and heterosexuals interested in BDSM. Commentary: The old leather community began to fade for a number of reasons, including the fact that many of its members were aging, the fact that both homosexuality and BDSM became much more mainstream during the late 1970s and 1980s (a trend which is continuing today), the fact that BDSM began reaching a wider and wider pool of interested people thanks to new communications media such as the Internet, and the effect of AIDS on the gay community in the late 1980s.
Nipple Clamp/Clip	Unlike clothespins or clover clamps, these allow adjustment of the tension of the clamp from hmmm to ouch! The tweezers-like clamps have a ring that rides up over the prongs and plastic coverings on the business ends. Slide it a little way, and you get a firm squeeze; slide it further, and the clamp gets tighter.
No Limit	a myth or an idiot looking to get killed. Terrible things will happen to this person.
Nose Shackle	A device, often consisting of a metal clamp with adjustable jaws which can be opened or closed by means of a screw, designed to clamp onto a person's nose. When clamped, the nose shackle can not be removed by the wearer. Often has a means of affixing a chain or leash, allowing a person to be restrained by the nose shackle.
Nostril Strap/Nose Torture/Nose Hook	Favored in Japanese BDSM, the nostril strap is made usually of bent wire with a string attached. The wire ends hook into the nostrils producing extreme pain if the string is pulled.
Nullification	Sexual arousal from the act of amputation
Nyotaimori	Human sushi platter.
Obedience	noun. Act of obeying: quality of being obedient: submission to authority.
Objectification	Sexual arousal from any act in which one person is dehumanized or dehumanizes another. Animalism, and some forms of humiliation play and utility D/s, involve objectification.
Odalisque	(Literally, Turkish oda chamber, room + liq woman) Archaic A formally trained female sex slave.
Odexelagnia	Sexual arousal from biting or being bitten.
Old Guard/Old Leather	refers to high protocol groups, particularly gay leather BDSM groups; people who use this phrase may be romanticizing a perception of leather history.
Oral Servitude	A form of submission in which the submissive partner satisfies the dominant partner orally, but is generally not permitted to have other, more conventional forms of sexual contact with the dominant partner.
Oral Without Rubber/OWO	Oral sex without a condom or dental dam
Orgasm Control/Orgasm Denial	Erotic sexual denial keeping a bottom in a state of heightened state of sexual arousal for an extended period of time without orgasm
Out	To reveal someone's participation in the kink community. People have lost jobs, and familial/parental rights due to outing.
Over The Knee/OTK	A style of spanking in which the dominant or top is seated and turns the submissive or bottom over his or her knee so as to spank the buttocks.
Overseer's Whip	A type of single tail, usually about six feet long and having a braided lash but without a rigid handle, commonly used by slave traders and slave owners in United States history. Very similar to a bullwhip.
P.R.I.C.K.	Personal Responsibility in Informed Consensual Kink - Risk Aware but acknowledging that one must take Responsibility for themselves and their actions in order to give or receive Consent. A common guiding principal for relationships and activities.
Pacifier/Dummy	Can be used to quiet a victim, and even strapped in place to prevent removal. Pacifiers are orthodontic and designed to be placed in the mouth. They are very comfortable and soft, and remove the violent connotations of a gag. The wearer's mouth is essentially being plugged.
Pack	A group of animal players, furries or primals, connected by their relationships, rituals, and common goals. Similar to a House.
Packing	1. Training technique used on female submissives who serve as "boys"; wearing a dildo or pants filler underneath clothing to simulate male genitalia. 2. stuffing gauze or another object into a bottoms vagina or anus
Paddle	A flat instrument for striking with, particularly the buttocks. If holes are added to the striking part of the paddle (Spencer paddle), the shape may be seen on the skin, after the strike, and the sting is increased.
Pain Play	Any activity in which one person inflicts pain on a consenting partner, for the pleasure of one or more of the people involved.
Pain Threshold	The point at which stimulation becomes pain.
Paingasm	An orgasm achieved through painful stimulation.
Panel Gag	A gag which has a flat panel, usually made of leather, held across the wearer's mouth by two straps.
Panic snap	A metal clip shaped like a wedge with a hinged section down the side that snaps into place, very useful as fastening in bondage. May be released quickly.
Pansexual	A person who engages in erotic or sexual play with persons of any gender or sexual orientation.
Panty slave	A male submissive/slave who wear women's lingerie to please himself or his Dominant. sissy slave.
Parachute	A small leather cone with a hole in its center, which is often used in CBT. The parachute is wrapped around the scrotum, and weights are suspended from it, pulling on the scrotum and compressing the testicles.
Pay Pig / Money Slave / Human ATM	Servant to a Financial Domme
Pear/Pear of Anguish	A pear-shaped device with three or four segments that open when a knob or screw at the base is turned. The pear is inserted into the mouth, vagina, or anus and the knob is turned to open it up. When opened, it can not be removed. Sometimes includes a locking mechanism on the knob to prevent it from being closed again without a key.
Pegging	performing anal sex on a man with a dildo or vibrator secured with a strap on.
Penis Gag / Pecker Gag	A specific type of gag which has a short, penis-shaped dildo that is inserted into the wearer's mouth and held in place by straps.
Penis Plug	A device that is worn around the glans of the penis with a protrusion, often made of metal, that is inserted into the urethra. It blocks the urethra, preventing the escape of semen and causing ejaculation to be painful.
Percussion	Any form of impact play involving striking with a blunt or fairly heavy implement
Pervertible	Any object which serves an ordinary and prosaic function, but which also has a use in BDSM activities. For example, clothespins are often used as nipple clamps; saran wrap can be used for mummification; paint stirrers are sometimes used as paddles; and so on. Etymology: This term was coined by David Stein.
Pet	A person who may or may not identify with animal play who is treated like they are beloved and owned.
Petticoating/Pinaforing	Archaic feminization, especially, feminization done by making the subject dress in women's clothing as a punishment for some transgression.
Pillory	Playroom furniture to confine a standing person by the neck and hands, mounted on a post. Stocks
Pillory Bed	A bed with a stock built into the headboard and/or footboard, such that a person lying on the bed may have the stock closed over his or her ankles, wrists, or wrists and head to restrain the person and prevent him or her from leaving the bed.
Pink Boxing	anal fisting
Pizzle	a whip made from a large animal's penis, dried and stretched.
Plastic wrap / saran wrap	Cling film used for mummification bondage.
Play party	a gathering of lifestylers where BDSM scenes will occur under the supervision of a DM
Play Piercing	A form of needle play in which the needles are placed through the skin or through parts of the body such as nipples. The piercings thus made may or may not have items such as rings placed through them. A defining element of play piercing is that the piercings are not intended to be permanent and the needles or other items are removed at the end of the session.
Poly/Pride/Kink Flag	A pride flag for a person who is LGBT, polyamorous, and involved in the kink or fetish community! Many people have these 3 identities, so this flag was made for them! The rainbow-esque is inspired by the LGBT rainbow flag, the gray is for kink and fetish and the pale gold-yellow at the bottom is for polyamorous folks.
Pony play	the submissive is in the role of a pony with the Dom/me as the owner/trainer. Plugs, with tails attached, may be inserted into the anus. Full horse gear, bridles, hooves, saddles, and reins, may also worn. Post Orgasmic Pain or Cramps	Caused by relocation and contraction of the uterus, or uterus tilting or rotating. Pain or cramps often occur around the low abdomen, perineum, anus and tailbone. Orgasm burns a lot of hormones and neurotransmitter acetylcholine, resulting an abrupt drop of PGE-1 production in the tissues causing the pain or cramps.
Posture collar	A very tall collar, forcing the bottom's head very high and neck very straight. Frequently used in pony play.

Power exchange	1. A term used by some people to refer to what happens in a BDSM scene when the bottom agrees to be submissive and/or gives up control to the top. Also sometimes identified as the defining characteristic of SM, which has been described as 'a form of eroticism based on a consensual exchange of power' 2. a defining characteristic of BDSM where a submissive or bottom gives up control to the Dominant or top.
Predicament Play	a type of play or bondage where the bottom is in a difficult, uncomfortable or awkward position or situation. A type of edge play that may force the bottom to choose or alternate between two difficult positions or alternatives.
Primal	A person with the philosophy that they have an inner, primitive animal as a driving force. Interactions may involve physical fighting and raw, emotional scenes as the top or bottom feels their humanity stripped away leaving a wild animal. May involve predator/prey and outdoor play.
Primal Play	A style of BDSM emphasizing rough, raw, animalistic passion. It may include elements such as wrestling, biting, or fear play. It sometimes also does not include fixed roles of domination or submission, but rather may include people challenging one another for the dominant role.
Primal Predator	A person who engages in primal play, generally in a dominant role. A hunter.
Primal Prey	A person who engages in primal play, generally in a submissive role. The hunted.
Princess	A person who requires a very particular treatment of praise, care, and attention.
Prison Scening	Acting out a scene involving some type of prison scene. The use of a cell is for punishment and humiliation.
ProDomme/ProDom	A Professional Dominatrix. A ProDomme is not a prostitute but is paid for her services. ProDom is the male version.
Protector	A dominant entrusted with the care of a submissive at events when he or she has no collared dominant or when his or her dominant can not be present.
Protocol	Any defined, enforced code of behavior, and or rituals whether it be within the confines of a particular group, community, or other interpersonal dynamic. Usually describing different protocol levels (Low, Medium, or High)
Psycholagny	Orgasm without physical stimulation. Commentary: In some D/s relationships, the dominant partner will train the submissive partner to orgasm on command, with a word or a gesture, but without being touched physically.
Pump Gag	A type of gag consisting of a blunt, rounded, or penis-shaped rubber bladder which is placed in the mouth and can then be inflated with air by means of a hand pump. The gag increases in size, filling the mouth, when inflated. Commentary: Some inflatable gags can be quite dangerous, as they can enlarge until they press against the back of the throat, cutting off breathing and causing suffocation. Some pump gags have breathing tubes through them to mitigate this danger. Some forms of pump gags may not legally be sold in the United States.
Pumping	A cylinder is fitted over penis, clit, vulva, nipple, or another body part and a manual pump is used to create a partial vacuum, increasing blood flow and skin tension to the area, causing swelling. May be used to stimulate or effect lactation.
Punch Fisting	A very extreme and rarely used form of fisting.
Punishment	1) the authoritative imposition of something undesirable or unpleasant upon a submissive by a Dominant, in response to behavior that the Dominant deems unacceptable. 2) General term for activities producing pain. 3) A scene, often a Master or Mistress & slave scene, in which the slave is punished for real or imaginary faults. Warning: it has been claimed that this can result in psychological damage since it reinforces the idea that pleasure can only come from incorrect behavior.
Punishment Tie	Any form of bondage done in such a way that the bound person's pose or the bondage itself is painful or uncomfortable, or any kind of bondage done with the intent of causing pain or discomfort to the bound person. Some forms of shibari include punishment ties.
Punitive pain	pain caused for punishment reasons
Puppet	1) A Bottom may be turned into a puppet by attaching cords to clips on the arms, legs etc. If these are pulled gently the limbs may be controlled. 2) one who's actions are controlled by one outside of a scene.
Puppet Master	1) One who takes a Dominant role, giving instructions to a scening couple or group, without participating in any other way. 2) A Bottom may be turned into a puppet by attaching cords to clips on the arms, legs etc. If these are pulled gently the limbs may be controlled...therefore the Top becomes the Puppet Master
Puppy Play	Sub is made to/willingly acts like a puppy or dog. Sub barks, whines, eats from a bowl, etc. Such play is sexual, but also focuses on the altered mind-space of bottom/pup and the complete dominance of his/her Trainer/Master.
Pushy Bottom	One who pushes the Dom/me demanding attention.
Pussy Pump / Female Vacuum	Making the sub more sensitive and the clitoris larger. Common usage are nipple pumps or pumps they make for men. Some use the rubber top of an eyedropper. Can be done for play or if done regularly will become permanent and would be a body modification. You can also do labia pumping, you just need a pump to encompass the labia lips. Genital pumping, again you need one to cover the entire area. And don't forget nipples can be pumped too. Tip- Do it slow otherwise it can be too painful when done fast.
