5 words/phrases to best describe me
1. Funny (having written jokes for Eddie Murphy, Jerry Seinfeld, Rosie O'Donnell and countless others when they were making their way up the ladder of stardom from their Long Island roots)
2. Incurable romantic (whose stories reflect the mixture of love and lust, romance and excitement, or so I think they do)...and
I have long believed...
3. Self-aware (It was a long journey to come to this destination of knowing, and continuing to explore, who and what I am)
4. Smart (I'd say intelligent, but that infers "wise" and that part is still in its neonatal stage, even after nearly a half century)
5. A True Friend (I don't think there is a more important title than being a friend...to your family, those who befriend you, strangers, and, above all, to yourself)

I believe strongly that:
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and the heart of the beheld"...those who see beauty as merely skin deep have souls themselves no deeper than wading ponds.

"The shortest distance between two points is not a straight line, it is caring hearts." If in some way the words I have placed from my side of the glass has touched you on your side of the glass, then I will have linked our two points, and stand to smile because of it.

"You have not lived a day in your life until you do something for someone who could never repay you"...There is no dollar sign that can be placed on the smile of someone whose life you enhanced, whose hour of darkness you enlightened, to whom you said when their hands were stretched out in need, let mine be the hand you grasped.

I knew when I was 10, sitting on a park bench across from Yankee Stadium, when my maiden aunt asked me what I wanted to be, "I don't want to be an astronaut, a policeman or a fireman. I want to be a writer." I knew I could turn the world on with my words, and have made an impact almost since I entered the planet on April Fool's Day, 1953. I knew 10 years before I graduated Boston University with a degree in Public Communications I wanted to attend there. I am proud that during those days, I helped make American and popular entertainment history, as a Student of the Year who worked in booking Aerosmith on local campuses during their break-out years, and helping George McGovern to carry the state of Massachusetts as I was among the first of the 18 year olds to vote,

I have been successful in my writing career, having helped introduce Bailey's Irish Cream to America, serving as the spokesperson for children with leukemia, running my own Public Relations, resume, business consulting, grantwriting business since 1975. But life takes some crazy twists and turns, and career paths sometimes go through so many highs and lows, their map looks like the Pyrenees. I am rebuilding my business with the hopes it will touch the world, enhance souls and do likewise, of course, for our pockets. My grant clients include Planned Parenthood, Kamp Kiwanis, Special Olympics and Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf's New York state chapter.

I am active in civic affairs, including Kiwanis International (the world's largest community service network devoted primarily to the needs of the young); the March of Dimes, the Special Olympics, and others. I was the only rep of a community service organization to sit on the New York State Department of Education's Coalition for the New Compact for Learning, which set the frameworks for students throughout the state.

OUR GREATEST JOINT ACHIEVEMENT is undoubtedly my son, Jason, a freshman at Rochester Instituteof Technology, majoring inBioInformatics. Hearing impaired from birth, but oral rather than manual (he relies more on speech than sign), Jason has been a pace setter. His 1370 SAT scores, 5 on AP tests, and 102+ weighted average is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to talking about how he has been a dream come true, even if he is a typical teen. As is his father, Jason is active in service activities and helping others, and I am sure will surpass my wildest dreams for his success.

I like the fact most of those who know me personally, especially females, consider me the "most romantic man they ever met." I take pride they can reach out to me for advice, for friendship, knowing I will respond in a loving, confidential, nonjudgemental manner. I know I have lived too long in a glass house of my own making, as we all have, to even think of throwing rocks at another's such domain.

If my stories have touched your heart, if my writings in other venues have reached your mind, or your soul, then maybe I have added another step to the reason I believe I was placed on this planet---to be a messenger of love, of peace, of all that is good in the world, and add maybe a bit of devilish magic to all of it, without losing the spark.

The greatest similarity between all of us is the fact we are all different...whether we each see the glass as half-empty, half-full, or merely needing more water, we see it from a different perspective. If my writings, my perspectives, enhance or in any way affect yours, then I am happy. If not, at least I tried...I tried to show you that there is no such thing as a "male" or "female" side, because to acknowledge that is to make a man who is sensitive, emotional, unafraid to cry a wimp rather than a complete person, and a woman who is determined, self-assured, assertive a bitch rather than the complete package.

I am a 51 year old Top from Wantagh who has been in the lifestyle since 1973, with a 28 year hiatus due to a vanilla marriage. I re-entered the life in 2001, and after a long separation am finally ending the marriage via divorce mediation as I type. When love bit, sadly I stopped biting. Her biological clock was a stopwatch. I consider myself a RomDom--a Dom who is also an incurable romantic. I do not profess to be an expert on D/s (so much I have to learn), but i have counseled as an AOL conference room host on relationships, have written about it and, most of all, have lived them, so I hope this article is enjoyable.
