Etiquette during Purposeful Topics - Expectations of Conduct
-
Admins or Moderators will facilitate an organized topic and will announce the start of an organized.
-
This may be 1-2 Moderators to help during this time and minimize confusion who are the facilitators of the organized time.
-
Facilitator(s) will greet all incoming people in PM during the presentation.
-
"Welcome to the Garden's organized topic on "subject" by "Presenter's name".
-
-
-
Expectation of Members' Conduct
-
Protocols - if an active topic is going on, quietly slip into the room and do not distract from the presentation.
-
Suspend protocols or politely ask a Dominant in PM to enter if there is a mandate of protocol observation by you and your Dominant
-
Refrain from individual hellos and room greetings during an active topic in mid-session
-
This is disruptive and unfair to both the Presenter and those present
-
-
Do not ask to PM members during organized topics
-
This is rude and tells the Presenter their time is not valuable or their information contributes nothing to the continuing education of others
-
Topic Presenters invest and volunteer their personal time to share their information. Some are even nervous about presenting to a group
-
-
Do not disrupt topic with extra comments not pertaining to Topic subject, which includes actions and greeting others
-
Organized topic time is what it means, organized
-
This is an education time and if being respectful is going to be a concern, self-moderate yourself by leaving chat until after topic time
-
Continuation commentary is a form of hijacking and is as a purposeful disruption to direct attention to yourself
-
The site has specific rules on negative attention seeking
-
-
Disagreement/disinterest of topic subject.
-
Refrain from rude statements of disagreement or disinterest during the topic. Leave without a statement.
-
Save commentary for later.
-
You may publicly disagree with the presenter in the article reviews after the transcription has been posted.
-
-
Do not announce your intention to leave.
-
Violations of the above will result in a mute/ban dependent on the nature of the disruption
-
Rooma and Site Mutes may be for the term of the topic time or longer, not to exceed 7 days and may extend on discretion of site
-
Room or Site bans are based on the final decision of Site Owner/Admins after review of transcript
-
-
-
-
Do not become the "expert" giving the topic in lieu of the Presenter
-
Feel free to ask questions about the topic but do not dominate the chat with them
-
Feel free to answer other users' questions about the topic AFTER the Presenter has given their view FIRST, otherwise you are hijacking the presentation.
-
-
-
Moderators will PM (without permission) and advise the chatter of the behavior and give an instruction for it to cease.
-
If after a PM warning and continuation of offense, a room mute will occur.
-
PM request for the member to join them in Admin after topic chat.
-
Request another moderator to accompany you to Admin
-
Member refusal to come to admin will result in a 7 days site mute
-
-
After the 7 days, a room mute will remain in place until an Admin conversation has happened with the member within 3 days of the site release
-
-
-
Mute release is conditional on the conversation results with Admin/Moderators
-
If no Admin conversation is fulfilled after the 3 days, a ban will be imposed based on the rules of Negative attention seeking and failure to amend behavior.
-
Temp accounts are unable to enter Admin. One of the rooms you are Room Owner staff, change the password temporarily, discuss, and screenshoot conversation, then clear room
-
-
Advise Song Yung as she will keep a calendar reminder and make sure all Admin are aware of the calendar reminder updates for when the 7 days is up and when the 3 days begins
Special notes for Hot Topic presentations:
-
A moderator will be in the main Garden room and will state to each incoming member "welcome to the Garden.
Today, we are having a chat on the inflammatory subject of ________. Before you join the chat in the Hot Topic Room, do you agree to remain respectful and non-confrontational and to remember that everything represented and said in the chat is consensual and wanted by all parties in the scene or dynamic?"
-
After the chatter's explicit consent, the Moderator will PM the password of the Hot Topic Room to the user.
-
Upon the first breaking of the user's agreement,
-
The user will be room muted AND room blocked until a moderation discussion takes place.
-
The Moderator will PM the user of these conditions to be subject to a discussion in Admin or another room if temporary account.
-
Violators of Hot Topics may be rescinded the right to rejoin new Hot Topics depending on the results of the moderation
-
A List of violators no longer invited to Hot Topics will be kept and reminded to the Moderators
